COOPERATIVE LEARNING IS CHARACTER EDUCATIONAL


Education is a impotant element in a world.In the world everyone have the right to get education.The people have thinks about education can change they life to be better person .For example parent have children that school ,they have think that their children will get a job and good salary and have good attitude and dicilpline with the time.Especially in Indonesia now education is study to make the student not only have good academic in mathematics,science but education is study to make the student have good bahaviour ,attitude and character too.Because character educational is important elements that must have everyone to be better person in their life.So Cooperative learning can make the student have good characteristics.
Explanation in above will be description more than we know before with reference the books,they are :

As we know the purpose of education is be created person with good behavior .The way of teaching learning many more ways,but many people agree that cooperative groups is the best way of teaching and learning.Cooperative group is method that student have assignment in a group and every members in a group have function of assignment.Cooperative group is dynamnic group.This is is a devolopmen of sociometric.With cooperative group the student have team work that is can make student delete distance about social culture atc.Cooperative group make student have discussion about the problem and they have search and find the problem solving together or team work.Every one have job,this is mean that every student study to be autonomous however with a group and have interaction behaviour. The results showed that students in the co-operative condition were rated by the observers as having a stronger sense of group-centredness or group feeling than their peers in competitive group.

Learning by group have function or advantages else such as :
Group to enhane learning,this Interest in groups re-emerged in the 1970s, stimulated, in part, by the empirical research on peer tutoring that repoted the academic and social outcomes of children assiting other to learn (e.g. Brown et al.1971;Cloward 1967;Epstein 1978;Gartner et al.1971;Lane et al 1972).These studies showed that peers could be trained to facilitate academic accomplihments,reduce incidents of deviant and disruptive behavior,increase work and study skill,and teach social interactional skill ( Damon 1985;Greenwood and Hops 1981).The result showed that co-operation promotes higher achievement and productivity in language art,reading,mathematics,science,social studies,psychology.physical education and this is can used for all age group like elementary,secondary,college,and adult.

Interaction as a variable mediating academic achievement,when the students met in group,they have interactional with other student. In contrast to Webb’s studies on the effects of different types of interaction on student achievement, Cohen (1994) argued that it is the frequency
of task-related interactions that is related to conceptual and achievement gains in mathematics, science and writing activities. These findings are consistent whether the focus is on the individual learner or on the percentage of students who are observed talking together as they work on a shared task.

Cognitive language strategies , in this section the student have assignment with team work everyone get the problem, so the problem will be work by team together and the student will share what about they have in their thinks and that will result the strategies to have problem solving by cognitive they have and by team work.

Cooperative learning is good method to preschool.It means the purpose of cooperative is make good behavior with other people,so if Co-operative learning in early childhood can develop positive attitudes towards school and learning, and towards peers, and can provide abundant opportunities for learning how other people think, for developing language skills, and for learning how to solve interpersonal problems.If young children are to benefit as much as possible from co-operative learning, it is imperative that the teacher observe their group interactions.

The Teacher’s Role in Implementing Cooperative Learning in the Classroom.

In cooperative learning the teachers have subdivision important in classroom especially.The teacthers have Outlines how specific small group experiences can promote interaction, thinking and learning, discusses key roles teachers play in promoting student discourse, and demonstrates how interaction style among students and teachers is crucial in facilitating discussion, problem-solving, and learning.

The work with teachers and students in the transition from the traditional classroom to cooperative learning.The teacher must make the student interested with the material,the teacher must make the student enjoy with assignment and know what the purpose of the material.The teacher make assignment with good quality,it not means that the material is very difficult,but in that means the materials have good value with the problem and than the student can do the problem in a group and everyone have assignment and function ,they can share and make problem solving together.

Teacher’s roles in classroom :
Teacher make problem with assignment.
Teacher make groups, 1 groups concist of 4 – 5 students.
Every students have function with their assignment in groups.
Student shared with other in their group and make problem solving with they assignment.


The teacher can used cooperative learning method with more ways such as :
